I work on cleaning, typesetting, and sound effect translation. I don’t speak any Japanese, but I’ve been picking up some katakana while working on sound effects in Jojolion. In general, my job on a chapter is to clean up all of the Japanese text (Which is a longer process in the colored scans), redrawing artwork that has text over it, and then doing anything and everything involving the text itself. That includes dialogue, text on things in the world, and sound effects.
We use existing translations most of the time since they come after the black and white versions. The main exception is Part 5, where Daxing Dan is providing new translations. With our colored Part 8 releases, sound effects were not translateed until around chapter 50, so MistaL and I have been translating them ourselves, and having Daxing Dan proofread them.
I know MusicEdge has a tumblr, but he hasn’t updated it in over two years. Most of the other team members don’t like Tumblr as a site, so they don’t come here. Most of us frequent the Facebook community though, since that’s where our page is and it has the most reach for us to share things.
